Q: I want to make sure I’m covered under my car warranty, do I have to go to the dealer to be covered for maintenance?
No, As long as maintenance has been performed (at Perris Auto Repair Center or any other independent auto repair facility) within the recommended intervals and records are kept, Your warranty can not be denied. Ref. The Magnusen – Moss Act (1975) Title 15- Chapter 50- Section 2301-2312
Q: How often do I really need to have my oil changed?
Your vehicle hand book will have oil change intervals specific for your vehicle but here at Perris Auto Repair Center we recommend 3,000 miles on all conventional oils. Synthetic oils can vary depending on the manufacturer of oil and the vehicle. For more information on your vehicle and the oils please give us a call, 951-943-2677
Q: How much should I be paying for oil changes?
Every facility will set their oil change based on a number of things such as overhead, quality of oil, oil brands, oil filter brand/ cost ect. When having an expectation of what you should pay, even with something as simple as an oil change, you have to keep in mind everything that you are getting with that oil change. Here at Perris Auto Repair Center with an oil change we provide you with a digital 55+ point vehicle inspection, snacks and refreshments, a comfortable waiting area (if you are waiting), and premium customer service to answer any questions you may have.
Q: How do I know if my vehicle needs to be maintained with synthetic oil changes?
Your vehicle handbook should specify what weight and grade oil you should be using. Perris Auto Repair Center may even recommend upgrading to synthetic oil depending on your vehicle mileage, usage and the condition of the engine. If you are not sure of the grade oil that your vehicle requires you are always more than welcome to give us a call and we will let you know 951-943-2677
Q: Should I keep maintaining my car or buy a new one?
Here at Perris Auto Repair Center we always push for maintenance. These newer vehicles (1998-present) are easily capable of reaching 200,000-300,000+ miles with the right maintenance and even a new vehicle is going to require maintenance so you not only will you have the maintenance costs for the vehicle but also the monthly payments. With our complimentary 55+ point maintenance inspections that we do on just about any visit or service, we will definitely help keep your car properly maintained. If we see that there is more going on with your vehicle (repairs other than regular maintenance) than you would like to invest we can discuss other options at that time.
Q: How often should windshield wiper blades be replaced?
Wiper blades will need to be changed at different times depending on weather changes and use but usually they last a year or so. Since that is one of the points that we inspect with our complimentary 55+ point maintenance inspection we will keep you up to date on when they are needed.
Q: How much should a water pump cost?
It is hard to say what the cost of a water pump should be. Every make and model is different and even the same make and model can have different parts and labor times, warranties are factored into the price (Perris Auto Repair Center offers a 3 year 36,000 mile nation wide warranty with road side assistance), service, overhead, quality of parts, ect. It is best to bring the vehicle in to get an accurate price together.
